The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of seven more victims abducted along the Benin-Akure road, as its ongoing operations against kidnappers intensify.
In a statement released via X.com on Monday, the Command disclosed that its “intensive and rigorous bush-combing operations” were yielding results.
“So far, three victims kidnapped along the Benin-Lagos expressway and six others abducted in the bus incident on the Benin-Akure road have been rescued,” the statement read.
The police further assured that efforts were continuing to secure the safe release of the remaining hostages and apprehend the perpetrators.
Residents with useful information have been urged to contact the Command on 080777773721 or 08037646272.
The latest breakthrough comes amid rising public concern over highway kidnappings in the State, with security forces under pressure to restore confidence among travellers.
