Edo State’s new Executive Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has demonstrated a no-nonsense approach to governance, instructing contractors to promptly return to construction sites and repair deteriorated roads in the Benin metropolis.

Governor Okpebholo issued the directive during an inspection of major routes, including Upper Mission Extension Road near Aduwawa Junction and the Ramat Park Axis, areas known for significant wear.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of these roads, emphasising that his administration aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda to uplift the lives of Edo residents through swift and practical solutions.

Some priority areas marked for immediate intervention include the 7.5 km stretch of Temboga Road, as well as critical sections along Lucky Way Junction, Aduwawa, and Ramat Park–Slope Axis. Additional works are set to begin on Eyaen Road and Obadan Junction on the Benin-Auchi Expressway.
