The Edo State Traffic Control and Management Agency (EDSTMA) held its annual parade and award ceremony to recognise and honour individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and success of the Agency.
During the event, which took place on Wednesday, the Managing Director of EDSTMA, Mr. Dennis Olieriegbe, disclosed that the honourees are people who have distinguished themselves and believe in the Agency’s mandate.
These exceptional individuals were automatically made patrons of EDSTMA as a result of their contributions towards the organisation over the last seven years of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration.
Olieriegbe said: “…We are here today to celebrate, to parade, to enjoy ourselves and the focal point is to give award to some people who are very close to us. The reason some people are very close to us is that they believe in what we are doing.”

The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including representatives from the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), Faith Motors, and members of the public.
The parade was led by the staff of EDSTMA, who put on an impressive display of professionalism and commitment to their work.
Comrade Ambassador Festus Alenkhe, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, was among the awardees.
He expressed his gratitude to the management of the organisation for honouring him and pledged to continue to support the Agency through crime reportage. He also prayed for a better 2024.
The highlight of the event was the launch of the Agency’s magazine, a transformative media channel for public education, sensitisation, enlightenment and traffic updates. The magazine is geared towards providing the public with information on road safety, traffic rules and regulations, and the activities of EDSTMA.
Otunba Ehi Gbadamosi, who launched the magazine, urged the awardees to be good ambassadors of the Agency.
The event was a celebration of excellence and dedication to service, highlighting the importance of the contributions made by individuals and organisations towards the growth and development of EDSTMA.
