The LP faction led by Lamidi Apapa has urged former presidential candidates of PDP and LP, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi to follow the example set by Liberia’s President George Weah and congratulate President Bola Tinubu.
The party stated that it expected Obi and Atiku to put their differences aside and work together with the president to achieve the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The LP faction commended the sportsmanship displayed by President Weah, who conceded defeat to opposition leader Joseph Boakai prior to the official declaration of the results.
The party called on Nigerian leaders to emulate this spirit of sportsmanship and to remember that elections should not be treated as do or die affairs.
