Federal Government to end multiple Identity registration

The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has revealed that the Federal Government of Nigeria is focused on investing in the harmonization of the country’s data through NIMC.
He made this known via a tweet from the official X account of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Centre on Thursday.
Tunji-Ojo also promised that the era of multiple ID registrations will soon be over. He added that NIMC has been mandated to harmonize the country’s database to enhance Nigerians’ identity and security architecture.
According to him, the harmonization will put an end to the need for individuals to have multiple ID numbers for various purposes. This will also lead to information exchange among agencies, making it easier for individuals to access their data for different purposes.
The initiative will help optimize processes and save costs, energy, and time.
