Four Reps Defect to APC as One Dumps PDP for Accord

Four members of the House of Representatives (Nigeria) have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), while another lawmaker moved from the PDP to the Accord Party.

The lawmakers who joined the APC include Inuwa Garuba representing Yamaltu/Deba Federal Constituency of Gombe State, Abdullahi El-Rasheed representing Dukku/Nafada Federal Constituency of Gombe State, and Mohammed Audu representing Karim Lamido/Lau/Ardo-Kola Federal Constituency of Taraba State, who all defected from the PDP.

Also, Obika Chinedu representing Abuja Municipal/Bwari Federal Constituency in the Federal Capital Territory left the Labour Party to join the APC.

In a related development, Adewale Adebayo representing Irepodun/Olorunda/Osogbo/Orolu Federal Constituency of Osun State announced his defection from the PDP to the Accord Party.

The Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, read the letters of defection during plenary, with the lawmakers citing internal crises within their former parties as the reason for their decision.
