Edo State Football Association Chairman, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, has received three awards in one day, following recognitions for his contributions to football, youth development and community service.
The first was the Best FA Chairman of the Year 2026 award by Miss Nigeria Football. He also received an award from the organisers of the 2026 Salvation Cup during the grand finale at the UBTH Football Complex for his support of grassroots football.
The third recognition came from the Global Teachers Conference, which honoured Erhunmwunse for Youth Development and Empowerment at Peniel Hall, Benson Idahosa University, Benin City, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The conference also presented him with an Award of Excellence as a Community Impact & Education Advocate.
All three recognitions were presented on the same day, making August 26, 2026, a remarkable day of recognition for the Edo FA Chairman.
Since becoming Edo FA Chairman in November 2023, Erhunmwunse has been associated with several youth football and scouting programmes, including the Bright Osayi-Samuel U-13 Football Tournament, age-grade competitions and scouting programmes for young talents.
The three awards further highlight Erhunmwunse’s growing profile in football administration and his contributions to youth development, empowerment and community service in Edo State.
