Giving your first salary as first fruit to your pastor is unscriptural- Ex-Presidential aide

Reno Omokri, a former Presdential aide to ex-President Jonathan has said that the practice of giving first salary to pastor as first fruit is unscriptural.

He explained in an update on social media that such practice has nothing to do with being prosperous as claimed by religious leaders.

According him, rather giving one’s first salary as first fruit to a pastor, such money should be given to one’s parent, adding that parental prayer is far potent than any pastor’s prayer.

I never sowed my first salary to any pastor or church as first fruit offering. There is NOTHING like that in Scripture. I gave my first salary to my father. He shared it to EVERY single member of my family as he saw fit, then prayed for me.

I have NEVER been poor since then. Read Scripture. The only command among the 10 Commandments that affects your prosperity on Earth is “Honor your father and your mother”-Exodus 20:12. No prayer from any pastor, no charm from any voodoo priest, and no amount of hard work, can do what the prayer of a parent that you honour can do in your life!
