In a continued show of commitment to the welfare of displaced and disaster-affected communities, Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, visited Rann, the headquarters of Kala-Balge Local Government Area, where he personally supervised the distribution of humanitarian aid to over 10,000 residents.

Rann, which has endured years of devastation from insurgent attacks and seasonal flooding, has seen significant loss of farmland and infrastructure. Governor Zulum’s visit aimed to address these challenges by providing food and non-food items to families struggling with displacement and poverty.

During his stay, Governor Zulum spent the night in Rann to assess the situation firsthand and interact with local residents. He commended the Nigerian military for their resilience and ongoing efforts in securing the region, acknowledging their role in maintaining stability despite difficult conditions.

While in Rann, Governor Zulum inspected health facilities, schools, and key infrastructure projects. He also officially handed over members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), local hunters, and vigilante groups to the Nigerian military, as part of an ongoing effort to reinforce community-based security structures.
