In a significant development in the Edo gubernatorial race, Senator Monday Okpebholo’s electoral prospects were given a significant boost as the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Edo Central Senatorial District collapsed its political structure, with members defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) en masse.
The move was orchestrated by NNPP Senatorial Leader, Engr. Mike Ehichioya Kuku, and was joined by several high-ranking members of the party, including Chief Victor Enemiye, the Senatorial Leader of Edo Central, and Mr. Michael Ehimare, his deputy.
Additionally, other NNPP chieftains, such as Comrade Victor Idialu, the Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, and the women leader of NNPP in Esan West Local Government Area, Mrs Obehi Ajakaiye, have also pledged their support to the APC.
They have promised to bring their political enthusiasm, which they displayed while working with the NNPP, to ensure the APC’s victory in the upcoming polls.
