Ahead of the upcoming Edo governorship elections, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has lost another key member in the State.
Soweibibor Kimbor, the Secretary of the PDP in Ovia South West Local Government Area, has officially decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kimbor cited ongoing internal crises within the PDP, ranging from the national level down to the ward level, as the primary reason for his departure.
This defection marks a continuing trend of diminishing numbers for the PDP in Edo State as the election draws closer.
Kimbor was warmly welcomed into the APC fold by a delegation of party leaders, including the LGA party secretary, Hon. Harrison Okpamen, the Director General of the APC Campaign Council at the LGA level, Rt. Hon. Sunday Aghedo, and the deputy governorship candidate of the party, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, among others.
This defection is seen as a boost for the APC, strengthening their position and support base in Ovia South West LGA as they prepare for the critical governorship contest.
