Hostel caretaker allegedly kills polytechnic students

The hostel caretaker of Ezinwanne Lodge in Nekede has allegedly killed one of his tenants, Mr Anthony, (Surname withheld) an undergraduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede for failing to quit the possession of his lodge.

According to Poly TV who posted the story on Facebook, the caretaker had told Anthony to renew his house rent but he pleaded for more time to settle his bills. But in the process of explaining himself, an argument was said to have ensued which led to misunderstanding between the duo as the caretaker was alleged to have hit Anthony on the head with a wooden stick.

Anthony collapsed on the spot and was rushed to FMC Owerri hospital where he was receiving treatment until he was pronounced dead this morning.

The polytechnic students have Call for justice for the deceased student. The caretaker is currently in police custody.

Anthony until his death was an NDI student in the department of building technology, federal polytechnic Nekede Owerri, IMO state.

As at the time of filing this report, the Police authority in Imo State is yet to respond to the incident.
