How hoodlums sabotage governor Sanwo-Olu’s effort at providing sustainable lighting solution in Lagos

The recent installation of solar-powered streetlights in certain areas of Lagos State was a great initiative by the government to provide sustainable lighting solutions. However, it’s disheartening to learn that a few weeks later the solar panels are being stolen.
This has caused a significant setback in achieving the goal of providing adequate lighting to the residents of Lagos State. To address this issue, the police were immediately informed, and they promptly launched an investigation.
Fortunately, their efforts led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man named Emmanuel Achogwu, who was caught red-handed with four stolen solar panels on Ikosi Road by officers from Alausa Division.
Achogwu was revealed to be one of the technicians contracted to install the solar-powered streetlights, making it even more concerning that he was involved in the theft. While the arrest of Emmanuel Achogwu is a positive development, the investigation is still ongoing, and it’s essential to uncover any potential accomplices involved in the theft.
This will help to prevent any further thefts from occurring in the future and ensure that the solar-powered streetlights continue to provide sustainable lighting solutions to the residents of Lagos State.
In a related development, three persons have been arrested in connection with the theft of twenty-five CCTV installed by the Lagos State government.
According to report, the camera was taking pictures of the criminal while he was climbing the pole. Security operatives were said to have traced him to his house at Ayobo and arrested him. Two other suspects (name withheld) were arrested at Trade fair.
