The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke has the winner of the 2022 Osun Guber poll.
Adeleke scored 403,371 votes to emerge winner over his closest rival, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 375,027 votes.
A Chieftain of the PDP who spoke with Uptown Press NG on condition of anonymity shortly after the announcement of the election results, said that the victory is a reassurance that the will of the people cannot be suppressed when they stand together against bad leadership.
According to him:
“The wind of change in Osun state is a reassurance that the breath of fresh air is imminent in Lagos State”, he said.
