Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z has ignited a firestorm of controversy following a backstage tirade at the Smoothie King Center on Friday.
In a series of provocative statements, the billionaire rapper denounced traditional Christian values and declared his allegiance to Satan, claiming that Jesus was invented to control the masses.
During the outburst, Jay-Z asserted that he belongs to an elite group of “smart people” who worship “our true lord; Satan.”
He further claimed that “God created Lucifer to be the bearer of truth and light” and dismissed Jesus as a mere fabrication, stating, “Jesus never existed but was a tool created by smart people to control dumb people.”
The rapper’s tirade shocked those present, including a small group of backstage ticket winners. Jay-Z pointed around the room, exclaiming, “Y’all being played.
There ain’t no Jesus. Y’all slaves to a fake religion.” He questioned the efficacy of prayer, suggesting that his own success was due to his rejection of traditional religious beliefs and his embrace of Satanism.
“Do you think I got where I am praying to a guy that don’t exist?” Jay-Z asked rhetorically. “No. I found the guys who invented that guy and I joined the club. Then I worked my way to the top. I earned my new form of humanity and maturity when I fully embraced my older brother, Satan.”
Jay-Z described Satanism as the “highest form of being,” claiming that it offers genuine spirituality and rewards its followers with “wealth and success.”
In contrast, he characterized Christianity as a religion that enslaves its adherents and leaves them with “silence and emptiness.”
The rapper’s statements have sparked widespread outrage and disbelief. Pointing to the young fans gathered backstage, Jay-Z challenged, “How many of y’all have gotten rich, or famous, after you prayed to God? Come on, raise your hands?”
As murmurs of discomfort filled the room, Jay-Z continued, “None of you are rich and none of you are famous because no one is listening to your prayers. I got everything I wanted because I surrendered to our true lord, Satan. Because I recognized Jesus is the original fake news, designed to enslave humanity.”
Continuing, Jay-Z encouraged his fans to follow the “doctrine of Lucifer” to achieve success. “God created Lucifer, not Jesus, so he could rule over us as Satan. I’m telling you this because I know you guys look up to me and want to emulate me. I will give you this one guarantee, if you start following the doctrine of Lucifer, you will taste success. The secret of the universe opens up to you. It is immediate and glorious.”
Jay-Z’s incendiary comments have already prompted backlash from religious groups and fans alike.
The full repercussions of his statements remain to be seen, but it is clear that the rapper has struck a deep and controversial chord with his audience.
