There was wild jubilation in Edo North on Saturday as Senator Adams Aliu Oshiomhole, representing the district in the National Assembly, distributed empowerment items to hundreds of constituents and All Progressives Congress (APC) members across the zone.
The event, held at the senator’s country home in Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government Area, drew a massive crowd of party faithful, community leaders and beneficiaries who thronged the venue in celebration.
Items distributed included sewing machines, tricycles, grinding machines, motorcycles, refrigerators, and bags of rice, among others — all aimed at boosting small businesses and improving livelihoods in the district.
Addressing the gathering, Senator Oshiomhole expressed gratitude to his constituents for their unwavering support and reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation in the National Assembly.
“I thank you all for being here today and for electing me to represent our dear Edo North Senatorial District. I promise to continue to deliver effective representation and quality service to our people,” Oshiomhole said.
“I urge you to remain steadfast in your support for our great party, the All Progressives Congress, and for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Continue also to support Governor Monday Okpebholo in his efforts to develop our dear state.”
He further conveyed the governor’s goodwill message to the people of Edo North, saying, “Governor Okpebholo personally asked me to extend his greetings and best wishes to all of you. May the good Lord continue to bless you all.”
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Cletus Adile from Akoko-Edo, expressed gratitude to the senator for his benevolence, pledging his loyalty to the APC. Another beneficiary, Brainah Lukman from South Ibie Ward 5, prayed for God’s continued protection and guidance for the senator.
Notable dignitaries present included the Minister of Regional Development, Hon. Abubakar Momoh; Hon. Gani Audu, Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor; Hon. Valentine Omoregie, Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area; Hon. Godwin Eshiehi, Commissioner for Labour and Productivity; and Hon. Zika Oyakhamoh, Secretary of Etsako West LGA, among others.
The empowerment event, marked by singing, drumming and jubilation, further cemented Oshiomhole’s popularity across Edo North as constituents hailed him for his people-oriented leadership.
