The law of retribution has caught up with two members of a notorious ‘one-chance’ armed robbery syndicate terrorizing Abule-Egba axis of Lagos State.
Sadly, the third gang member, in whose possession was the POS machine they operated with, escaped before the arrival of policemen.
Nemesis caught up with the miscreants today, January 4, following their wicked act of pushing off a victim from their fast-moving operational vehicle, a T4 commercial bus, marked APP 406 YE, after dispossessing him of his personal effects.
According to Adebayo Taofiq, Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in a press release, irate members of the public, who noticed the development, went in their hot pursuit till they met a brick wall in LASTMA operatives at Abule-Egba by Jubilee Bridge.
While attempting to evade arrest, the hoodlums drove recklessly, “before they were eventually caught by LASTMA officials controlling and managing traffic around the Abule-Egba axis” Adebayo said.
The two suspects have been handed over to policemen from the Ile-Epo Division, for further investigation.
In his reaction, the General Manager of LASTMA, Bakare-Oki Olalekan, has appealed to members of the public, particularly commuters, to be very vigilant and stop being unnecessarily in a hurry, thereby flagging down vehicles on motion.
