Hon. Ahmed Dauda has emerged Etsako West Local Government All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman at a consensus congress held on Saturday at the party’s secretariat in Auchi.
The Chairman of the committee for the conduct of APC congress in the council and Deputy governorship candidate of the party in the 2020 Edo guber poll, Mallam Gani Audu commended members of the party for the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
He gave the commendation in an interview with journalists shortly after party stalwarts and members affirmed the new executive that will pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years.
While congratulating the new executive on their emergence as the new leaders of the party, he charged them to be united in order for the party to achieve success in the local government.
He noted that, if the new executive worked together as a team, they would always succeed.
Gani Audu said: “I am very happy to accept to be the Chairman of this congress exercise. I am proud to be a member of this team. A lot of people are qualified to hold the positions you are holding today. But, remember that Allah is the one who choses a leader. As far as this party is concerned in this local government, the leadership is in your hands and its success in council is now on your shoulders.
“I appeal to all of you. There is strength in unity, there is strength in showing understanding. I want all the members of the new exco to work as a team. Once you have agreed to work as a team, you would always triumph.” He pleaded.
While urging members of the party to work harmoniously with the new executive, he called on the new exco not to betray the confidence repose on them in discharge of their duties.
The outgoing Chairman of APC in the Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Akokhia expressed appreciation to Allah who enabled him served the party dutifully during his time as the Chairman of the party. He advised the new executive to work in harmony for the development of the party.
He assured of his readiness and continued support for the party at all time.
In his remark, the new Etsako West APC LG Chairman, Hon. Ahmed Dauda expressed gratitude for the opportunity given him to serve the party in the capacity of a Chairman.
“With our emergence, we are going to work on the template already set by the outgoing executive to make sure APC win the coming election in the local government and by extension Edo State.
“We would ensure that the infrastructural development the party is carrying out across the country continues.” He added.
Members of the new executive include: Hon. Ahmed Dauda as APC Chairman Etsako West Local Government, Hon. Moshood Umar Suleiman as Vice Chairman, Pascal Ovie as Secretary, Momodu Sule as Treasurer, Comrade Tijani as Financial Secretary, Ibrahim Momoh as Organization Secretary, Shaka Usman as Publicity Secretary.
Others are: Magdalene Osilama as Woman Leader, Amuda Muhammed as Youth Leader, Abdulsalam Raufu representing people with disabilities, Peter Arewa as Auditor, Aneru Sumaila as Legal Adviser among others.
Also, three new national delegates emerged via consensus from the Local Government. They are: Golda Osikhena from Ward 9, Lucky James from Ward 10 and Garuba Jim from Ward 2.
