The National Association of Seadogs popularly known as Pyrate Confraternity has donated some food items to orphans and vulnerable children in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The food items which includes : Bags of rice, bags of garri, bags of beans, gallon of red oil, groundnut oil, cartoons of noodles, cartoons of biscuit, toiletries and beverages were donated to the Itsoghena orphanages Homes.
Presenting the items to the orphans, the Capoon, Hybrid Deck NAS Edo North Chapter, Mr Christopher Ikponwonsa said the idea is to bring smile and support to the less privileged.
Ikponwonsa said the donation of the items is in partnership with Heart of Africa, United Kingdom.
“The national association of seadogs is here to fulfil its mandate of reaching out to communities and children of the orphans.
“Heart of Africa is an humanitarian organisation based in UK and they are partnering with us to show love to the orphans,” Ikponwonsa said.
Receiving the items, the Managing Director of the home, Elizabeth Abu thanked NAS for the gesture.
“We are very grateful to the association, they have been caring for us.
“Every year by year they come to donate food items, give us money and pay school fees for some of the orphan’s from primary school to higher institution.
“We pray for the Association that they will continue to soar higher for remembering the orphans and less privilege in the society” Abu said.
She however, appealed to individuals and cooperate organisations to help orphans and vulnurable persons in the society.
