Hon. Lady Omorede Osifo, APC Deputy National Treasurer and Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Women Mobilisation, has ushered in the New Year with a message of renewed hope, pledging intensified grassroots engagement and expanded women-focused programmes across Edo State as Nigeria steps into 2026.
In her New Year message, Osifo extended warm felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as well as to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, whom he described as a “best-performing governor” driven by people-centred policies. She also acknowledged the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Edo State, H.E. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, while saluting Nigerians, with special emphasis on the people of Edo State.
The APC chieftain said the New Year symbolises fresh opportunities and a strengthened resolve to deepen inclusive governance, women empowerment and effective grassroots mobilisation across the state.
According to her, the leadership style of Governor Okpebholo has continued to inspire confidence, unity and sustainable development, noting that his administration’s focus on the people has reinforced public trust in governance.
Osifo paid glowing tribute to the resilience and commitment of Edo women across wards, communities and local government areas, describing their participation as the backbone of effective civic engagement and political mobilisation.
She reaffirmed her office’s commitment to advancing women-centred initiatives in 2026, stressing that solidarity, inclusion and active participation would remain central to supporting the governor’s vision of a more prosperous and united Edo State.
“As we journey through 2026, my office remains fully committed to advancing women-focused programmes, strengthening solidarity, and supporting the vision of the Governor for a more prosperous, equitable, and united Edo State,” she said.
Osifo concluded by wishing Edo State and Nigeria peace, good health, prosperity and greater accomplishments in the New Year, expressing optimism that 2026 would usher in tangible gains for citizens at all levels.
