Nigeria Govt Approves N2bn For N-power, Others

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N2.12 billion for the award of contract for the design, development, deployment, and management of the National Social Investment Management System for the National Social Investment Programme.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the Councilโ€˜s meeting on Wednesday, March 3.

Farouq said the money to be used to take care of the issues of N-Power Programme, N-SIP Programme, National Cash Transfer Programme, as well as National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme.

The meeting was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

She said โ€œMy memo today was approved and was with regard to the contract for the design, development, deployment, and management of the National Social Investment Management System for the National Social Investment Programme. The contract is in the sum of N2,123,035,499.96 inclusive of 7.5 % VAT with a completion period of 24 months.

She said: โ€œThis system is going to be used to take care of the issues of N-Power Programme, N-SIP Programme, National Cash Transfer Programme, as well as National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme.

โ€œWe are starting with N-Power, which is the one before us. It is very immediate.

โ€œAfterwards, we will key other clusters of the National Social Investment Programme into this platform. The Council has graciously approved and we will go ahead.

โ€œThe contract is in the sum of N2,123,035,499.96 inclusive of 7.5 % VAT with a completion period of 24 months.โ€™โ€™
