Communications Minister Bosun Tijani said on Wednesday that the Federal Government is proposing a shared artificial intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure with Rwanda, Senegal and Kenya, a move meant to give the continent the muscle to build and run its own AI models.

Tijani spoke in Abuja at the Build 2026 conference, organised by the Nigeria AI Collective.

Under the plan, the four countries would pool their graphics processing unit (GPU) resources. The arrangement would let them tackle heavy computing jobs that no single country could handle alone.
