The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has taken action by establishing an ad-hoc committee to examine accusations of sexual assault involving Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the suspended Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar.
This decision was announced following a recent session of the National Executive Committee (NEC) led by President Yakubu Maikyau (SAN).
The committee comprises prominent members, including Linda Rose Bala, the 1st NBA Vice President; Daniel Kip, Assistant General Secretary of the NBA; the Chairperson of the NBA Women’s Forum; and the Chairman of the NBA Calabar Branch.
The NBA, in response to allegations of professional misconduct involving legal professionals, is taking proactive measures to address the issue.
In light of the recent events, the association deemed it necessary to conduct an investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Prof. Cyril Ndifon.
The NBA’s NEC initiated the formation of the ad-hoc committee, tasking its members with thoroughly investigating the allegations against the University of Calabar’s suspended Dean. The association aims to ensure a comprehensive and unbiased examination of the situation.
