A Nigerian woman, simply identified as Stella Akinmolayan Ebuetse has taken to the social media to bemoan irresponsible political leadership in Nigeria and how the former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun demolished houses and properties belonging to her parents in Ogun State without compensation to the owners.
According to her, the former governor had carried out the exercise with a promise to expand the road in the said area. Six years after, the road still remains in same condition without the promised expansion.
Read her story below:
Few years back, Gov. Amosu, former governor of Ogun State pulled down personal houses, shops, schools… without compensation!
I lost some of my parents who are landlords. They had to relocate to other places as a tenant. Some died due to heartbreak and fear of an unknown future. Some committed suicide. It was horrible.
His reason was to expand the road.
Almost six years later, nothing has been down. Going to Akute yesterday was another sign that we have highly irresponsible leaders who are just after their own pockets! The bridge between Giwa and Lambe was bad and the other one covered by weed. The roads were terrible. I was grateful I took a public transport!
If you can’t improve the lives of the citizens, please don’t add to their pains.
I hope the new governor will do something quickly! I hope he will sincerely learn from this by counting the cost of his project before embarking on them!
