The leadership of the Assemblies of God Church, Afikpo District in Ebonyi State has debunked a viral video circulating on social media which claimed that one of its pastors was initiated into the Ogo/Egbala cult in Edda, Ebonyi State.

Reacting to the report, the former District Superintendent of Afikpo District who is currently the Pastor of a branch of the Church in Owutu Edda, Rev. David Agwu, clarified that the man in question, 36-year-old Pastor Emmanuel Kalu, has never been a member of the Assemblies of God Church.

According to Rev. Agwu, Pastor Kalu operates an independent ministry known as Adoration End Time Movement, located in Owutu Edda, Afikpo, Ebonyi State.

“This young man, Pastor Emmanuel Kalu, has never been our member,” Rev. Agwu stated. “Although his father is a member of the Assemblies of God Church, he personally runs an adoration ministry in Edda.”

Rev. Agwu further explained that Pastor Kalu allegedly claimed that “the spirit of the cult had been tormenting him,” leading to his controversial decision to join the group.

He concluded by urging the public to disregard the false claims, emphasizing that Pastor Kalu is not a pastor or member of the Assemblies of God Church.
