Oshiomhole Congratulates Edo State Governor-Elect and Deputy, Urges Progressive Leadership

Former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has congratulated the newly elected Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, following their victory in the recent Edo State gubernatorial election.

In a statement issued by his senior aide, Hon. Victor Oshioke, Oshiomhole, who currently serves as the Senator representing Edo North, lauded the election outcome as a reflection of the people’s overwhelming desire for change after what he described as eight years of underperformance and neglect of institutional integrity.

The former governor highlighted that the mandate given to Okpebholo and Idahosa is a clear signal from the citizens of Edo who are eager for a government that will prioritize their needs and aspirations. He described the victory as more than a political triumph, calling it a “divine intervention” in response to the people’s cries for an end to nearly eight years of what he termed “despotic rule.”

“This is a golden opportunity for you to inscribe your names in the annals of history by offering the people of Edo State a progressive and purposeful leadership,” Oshiomhole said in his statement.
He also pledged his support to the incoming administration as they begin their journey towards restoring hope and effective governance in Edo.

Oshiomhole urged the Governor-elect and his Deputy to focus on delivering tangible results instead of dwelling on the challenges they may inherit. He reassured the people of Edo that their decision to elect the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership will bring positive change, encouraging them to stay involved and supportive of the new administration.

In closing, Oshiomhole attributed the APC’s victory to divine will, stating that God had granted the people of Edo this new beginning. He called on the incoming leaders to seize the opportunity to chart a course for a brighter future for the state.
