The newly elected chairpersons of Osun State’s 30 local government councils have officially received their Certificates of Return, marking the formal conclusion of the State’s council elections.
On Saturday, the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) announced that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had secured victory in all chairmanship and councillorship races across the State. Following this declaration, the successful candidates were presented with their certificates the very next day (today).
Sadiat Isiaka, OSIEC’s Information Officer, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday. She noted that the OSIEC Chairman, Barrister Hashim Abioye, had extended his congratulations to the elected officials, urging them to uphold the highest standards of service and to remain committed to the principles of democracy throughout their terms.
Barrister Abioye also encouraged the winners to become positive role models, emphasising the need for integrity and effective governance in their respective local councils.
