The Edo State Peoples’ Democratic Party governorship campaign council has issued a statement urging the electorates in the state to dismiss the alleged fake court judgments being circulated by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The statement, signed by the Deputy Director General of the Asue Ogie Campaign Management, Rev. Olu Martins, explains that the purported court judgments should be considered as fake news and disregarded.
The PDP described the reports of the disqualification of their candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, as false and malicious, attributing the misinformation to the leaders and chieftains of the APC in Edo State.
They called the story a “fake, imaginary, diabolical, and a satanic creation” engineered by the APC, which is allegedly facing widespread rejection by the people of Edo State.
Clarifying the situation, the PDP Campaign Council stated that no Appeal Court ruling has disqualified Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the candidate of the PDP in the upcoming governorship election. The council condemned the dissemination of what they termed as “fake news” by the APC, labeling it as criminal forgery.
In response to the alleged misinformation campaign, the PDP urged the people of Edo State and the nation at large to disregard the false reports and cautioned against falling victim to such deceitful tactics. They also emphasized that Dr. Asue Ighodalo remains a legitimate candidate of the PDP and affirmed his readiness to contest in the upcoming election.
With the election approaching, the PDP expressed confidence in Ighodalo’s candidacy and highlighted his widespread acceptance across the three senatorial zones, positioning him as a prospective leader committed to ushering in a new era of “Prosperity for All.”
