Former Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Dr Doyin Okupe, describing it as a significant loss to Nigeria.

In a heartfelt message shared on his official X handle, Obi extended his condolences to Okupe’s family and the wider Nigerian political community. He highlighted Okupe’s longstanding contributions to national discourse and governance, acknowledging his commitment to a better Nigeria.

“With great sadness this morning, I received the shocking news of the death of my dear elder brother, Dr Doyin Okupe. On behalf of the family and the Obidient family, I sincerely mourn his passing,” Obi stated.
