Edo State Peoples Democratic Party Chieftain, Chief Sunny Okomayin has felicitated the party’s 2024 governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu over his victory at the primaries last Thursday.
Recall Okomayin last Thursday suffered a gunshot wound on his arm when state-sponsored security operatives attacked the deputy governor’s men in a bid to shut them from conducting the election.
Reacting to the announcement of the deputy governor as the party’s governorship candidate after polling 301 legitimate votes, Chief Okomayin lauds the deputy governor’s courage and believes this victory is what the good people of Edo deserve.
“Congratulations, your Excellency, on your victory. You didn’t give in to oppression and intimidation and you gave it a good fight.”
