The Director General of the National Institute of Sports (NIS) and former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has urged the Executive Chairman-Elect of Etsako West Local Government Area, Hon. Romeo Aloaye Omoike (RAO), to remain focused, inclusive and committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
Shaibu gave the charge when Hon. Omoike paid him a courtesy visit and formally presented his Certificate of Return, following his victory in the recently concluded local government election.
The Certificate of Return, presented during the visit, symbolises the mandate freely given to Hon. Omoike by the people of Etsako West to lead the council.
The meeting featured discussions on leadership, accountable governance, grassroots development and collaboration aimed at advancing the growth and development of Etsako West Local Government Area and Edo State.
Hon. Omoike expressed gratitude to Comrade Philip Shaibu for his unwavering support, encouragement and commitment to the development of Edo State, describing his guidance as invaluable.
Congratulating the chairman-elect on what he described as a well-deserved victory, Shaibu charged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by the electorate through transparent, accountable and people-centred leadership.
He stressed that the true measure of leadership lies in service to the grassroots and called on the chairman-elect to remain steadfast in pursuing policies that will improve the welfare of the people.
