A 46-years-old man has killed his wife over alleged infidelity. He was said to have stabbed his wife of over 20 years of marriage when he lost control on suspicion of alleged infidelity.
The man, 46-year-old Sobola Olatunji, a staff of Remo North Local Government Council in Ogun State, was said to have been disgruntled by his wife, Memudat’s, alleged extra marital affairs, resulting to a heated argument and, thereafter, a fisticuffs that ended up in Sobola’s bestial act.
However, in his own account of what transpired, the suspect claimed to have searched through the deceased phone short messages (sms), where he came across some messages that gave her out as cheating on him and, consequently accused her of infidelity.
The late 38-years-old Memudat is, sadly, no more to state her own side of the story but, according the assailant-husband, the once “love birds” slipped into tangle during which Sobola stabbed the mother of three at the back.
The suspect became a criminal guest of the police at the Owode-Egba Divisional headquarters on February 13, 2021 as a result of the complaint lodged by the deceased woman’s father, Alhaji Ambali Yinusa, to the effect that the suspect, who used to be his son-in-law, had murdered his daughter.
The police in Ogun State currently investigating the ugly incident.
