Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), has expressed his profound grief following the passing of his 25-year-old daughter, Fatima.
The young woman passed away last Friday, prompting an outpouring of condolences from friends, family, and colleagues.
In a heartfelt message shared on his X handle today, Kyari reflected on his daughter’s life and the impact she had on those around her. “My daughter Fatima departed at her appointed time and looking forward to meeting her in Jannah by Allah’s grace,” he wrote. “While the loss is great by all measures, we remain grateful to God for all His mercies.”
Kyari noted the depth of Fatima’s connections with many people, highlighting how her life touched hearts in soothing ways despite the physical challenges she faced. “I didn’t know the depth of her connections with many people and what she meant to many,” he added.
He acknowledged that Fatima’s passing had brought people together, demonstrating the capacity for compassion that transcends social circumstances. “Above all, her demise brought many people together and demonstrated that we all can care for others irrespective of our social circumstances,” he stated.
Kyari extended his gratitude to leaders, family members, friends, and colleagues who joined in prayer and offered their condolences during this difficult time.
