A tricycle conveying five passengers to the ‘Keke’ park was involved in a serious accident earlier today,15th June, 2026 at Sapele road, Evbabogun, Benin City after it lost control while in motion.
According to an eyewitness account from one of the passengers, the Keke was moving swiftly when the driver suddenly lost control. The vehicle then veered off course and crashed into a pole, causing it to collapse on impact.
The force of the crash left several passengers injured. The eyewitness reported being trapped on the floor of the overturned tricycle with an excruciating pain in the neck and foot area,with two other passengers falling on top of her during the incident.
The front windscreen shattered upon impact, while the front tyre reportedly detached or shifted from its original position due to the severity of the crash.
Vigilantes and passers-by came to their aid almost immediately,passengers were left with bruises and body pains and three out of five of them were taken to a nearby clinic to treat their wounds. Thankfully,no life was lost.
