SUG Election: Tension in Auchi Polytechnic as students exchange blows over alleged rigging

There was palpable tension and chaos at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State on Saturday as students exchanged blows over an alleged rigging of Students Union Government, SUG, election results.

This blog gathered that, trouble started when some students stormed the election ground over perceived electoral malpractice and disrupted the electoral process as they exchange blows.

A source within the Polytechinc community who is familiar with the incident told this blog in a telephone chat that, rather than the school security to quell the ensueing chaos they immediately locked the school main gate and fled.

The prompt intervention of the Nigerian Police force saved the situation from being degenerated into another riot as officers were mobilized to the scene.
