Roberto Mancini, the former Manchester City manager, took over as the head coach of Saudi Arabia in March 2021, following the resignation of Herve Renard.
Mancini is a highly experienced coach who has previously managed top European clubs such as Inter Milan and Manchester City.
He has been tasked with improving the fortunes of the Saudi Arabian national team, which has struggled in recent years.
Mancini’s first two matches in charge of the Green Falcons have not gone according to plan. The team lost 3-1 to Costa Rica in his debut match, and then suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to South Korea in their next fixture.
Despite the disappointing results, Mancini has been working hard to implement his own style of play and tactics, and he will be hoping to see some positive signs from his players in the upcoming match against the Super Eagles.
The Saudi Arabian team will face a tough challenge against the Nigerian national team, which boasts some talented players such as Victor Osimhen, Alex Iwobi, and Wilfred Ndidi. Osimhen, who plays as a striker for Napoli, is one of the most promising young players in African football and has already scored several goals for the Super Eagles.
Iwobi, who plays for Everton in the English Premier League, is a versatile midfielder who can create chances and score goals.
Ndidi, who also plays in the Premier League for Leicester City, is a tough-tackling defensive midfielder who can break up opposition attacks.
The match will take place at the Estadio Municipal de Portimao in Portugal.
This will be a good opportunity for Mancini to assess his team’s strengths and weaknesses against a quality opposition.
The kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 pm Nigerian time, and fans can expect an exciting and competitive match between two talented teams.
