Super Eagles Vs Saudi Arabia friendly ends in 2.2 draw

In a highly entertaining international friendly match at the Portimao Municipal Stadium in Portugal, Nigeria’s Super Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw by Saudi Arabia’s Green Facons.
The match saw both teams play an attacking brand of football and provided fans with a thrilling spectacle. The game started with both sides probing each other’s defenses, but it was Saudi Arabia who drew first blood in the 64th minute.
Salam Al-Faraji capitalized on a terrible clearance by Nigerian goalkeeper Francis Uzoho to put the Green Facons in the lead. The Super Eagles responded almost immediately, however, and equalized in the 83rd minute through an own goal by Saudi Arabia’s Al Amri.

The goal came after sustained pressure from the Nigerians, who had been pushing forward in search of an equalizer. Just two minutes later, Nigeria took the lead through a well-taken goal by Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Leicester City striker pounced on a loose ball in the box and slotted it past the Saudi goalkeeper to give his team the lead. With the match seemingly heading towards a Nigerian victory, Saudi Arabia launched a late onslaught and managed to salvage a draw in the dying minutes of the match.
Mohammed Kamno scored in the 90+10 minutes to cancel out Nigeria’s lead and ensure that the match ended in a stalemate.
The Super Eagles will take on Mozambique next in another friendly match as they continue their preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
The West Africans will be hoping to build on their performance against Saudi Arabia and put in a strong showing in their upcoming matches.
