Residents of Oredo West have been urged to take an active role in shaping the political and developmental future of their constituency and Edo State by registering as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The call was made by Dr Richard Edosa, Deputy Chief Whip of the Edo State House of Assembly, in a message addressed to his constituents, which framed the ongoing registration drive as a pivotal moment for citizens to move from passive observation to active participation in governance. He stressed that the future of Oredo West would be determined not by those on the sidelines, but by men and women prepared to step forward and be counted.
Dr Edosa described APC membership as more than a routine political exercise, portraying it as a clear declaration of commitment to progressive leadership, inclusive development and a better future for coming generations. According to him, registration provides residents with the opportunity to influence policies, participate in the selection of leaders and demand accountable governance that truly reflects the interests of Oredo West.
He further emphasised the importance of collective action, calling on residents to organise and work together towards building a stronger and more prosperous constituency. He noted that when citizens are registered and politically active, their voices carry greater weight in shaping decisions that affect their daily lives.
The lawmaker linked grassroots participation to broader state development, noting that a politically engaged Oredo West would contribute more effectively to the overall progress of Edo State.
The appeal comes amid renewed efforts by political stakeholders across the State to mobilise grassroots participation ahead of future electoral and policy processes, with party registration widely viewed as a key gateway to inclusion in governance and decision-making.
