Jigawa State police have arrested a 45-year-old teacher, Musa Wada, for allegedly murdering his 14-year-old pupil {Almajiri}, Bashir Adamu, in Jikas-Dabaja village, Gwaram Local Government Area.

According to a statement by the spokesperson for the Jigawa State Police Command, SP Lawan Shiisu, the suspect was taken into custody after detectives acted on a tip-off. Investigations revealed that the teacher had punished the student for repeated absenteeism during the Ramadan fasting period.

Tragically, the punishment led to Bashir’s death. In an attempt to cover up the crime, the suspect allegedly beheaded the victim and mutilated his remains to make it appear as though ritualists were responsible.
