Tinubu appoints 39-years-old professor, Segun Aina as new JAMB registrar

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of JAMB, replacing Professor Is-haq Oloyede whose second tenure will end on July 31, 2026.

The announcement was made on Thursday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. According to the statement, Aina is expected to continue the reforms introduced under Oloyede while bringing more technology-driven improvements to the examination body.

Tinubu expressed confidence in Aina’s ability to move JAMB forward, describing him as an experienced expert with strong knowledge in digital systems and public-sector reforms.

Professor Aina, a Computer Engineering lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University, has years of experience in examination management systems and ICT infrastructure. He studied Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Kent, earned a Master’s degree in Internet Computing and Network
