Miss Inuma Juliet, a young woman undergoing treatment for a brain tumour at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), has received renewed hope thanks to a second round of financial assistance from the Area 3 Decks of the National Association of Seadogs (NAS), also known as the Pyrate Confraternity.
The latest support package, drawn from proceeds of the Area 3 Charity Ball, has covered critical medical expenses including surgery, medication, blood transfusions, and other hospital-related costs. This intervention marks the organisation’s continued commitment to her recovery, having previously stepped in to assist earlier in her treatment journey.
Beyond hospital costs, the group also provided Miss Juliet with funds for her immediate welfare during her stay, offering much-needed relief to her and her family. The act has been described as a beacon of compassion in a challenging time.
Speaking on behalf of her family, Miss Juliet’s sister, Timi, was visibly emotional. “We never expected such kindness. We are truly grateful for the support. Thank you, National Association of Seadogs, Area 3, for standing by us,” she said, her voice filled with emotion.
NAS representatives reaffirmed their dedication to community service and pledged to continue monitoring Miss Juliet’s progress. Dirisu Odion, Area Mate of Area 3, said the initiative was part of a broader commitment to service. “What we have done is more than charity; it is a reflection of our shared humanity,” he remarked.
Ehikioya Uduebor, Capoon of Arabella Deck, emphasised the value of community efforts: “This is a collective triumph. The Charity Ball may have been a single event, but its impact will be long-lasting.” Supporting this, Ogedegbe Evidence Idorhionmwenyi, Medic Mate of Arabella Deck, added that the success of the initiative showcases the strength of unity and purpose.
The family of Miss Juliet expressed profound appreciation to the donors and organisers of the charity event, whose benevolence has brought them solace during a difficult time. The continued support is expected to play a pivotal role in her recovery.
