The All Progressive Congress (APC) Candidate for Senate, in Edo Central Senatorial District, Monday Okpebholo (aka) Akpakomiza, have fulfilled his promise made to renovate Uromi Police Area Command Station that was greatly damaged by explosives thrown into the station by robbers that attacked banks in the town in February 2022.
In appreciation, the Uromi Police Area Commander, ACP Tarzan, thanked Monday Okpebholo (aka) Akpakomiza for rising to the occasion of giving a facelift to the damaged station. He noted that, the selfless and generous lifestyle of Monday Okpebholo makes him different from other politicians.
Recalled, Uromi, the headquarters of Esan North East LGA in Edo State, on Thursday, 24th February, 2022, witnessed one of the most daring bank robbery in Nigeria’s recent history. More than 20 armed men attacked multiple banks in the commercial town, in broad daylight, and operated for hours.
In order to carry out their heinous crime uninterrupted by the Nigerian Police Force, the daredevil used explosives to demobilize the Uromi Area Command Police Station, before applying similar explosives to breach the banks’ entrance, while packages of money were carried out and stuffed in different cars.
