The Deputy Chief Whip of the Edo State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon. Dr. Richard Edosa, has called on young people in Oredo West Constituency to take full advantage of the ongoing Youth Empowerment Interest-Free Loan Scheme to transform their lives and expand their businesses.
Dr. Edosa made the appeal during his recent ward-to-ward tour, which included visits to Wards 9 and 10, where he also received hundreds of defectors from various political parties, including his former party, who formally pledged their allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmaker, who represents Oredo West Constituency, was accompanied by his wife, members of his political team, and prominent stakeholders, who joined him in welcoming the new members into the APC fold.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Dr. Edosa highlighted his achievements since assuming office, noting that he had fulfilled all his campaign promises. He reeled off numerous constituency projects already completed and provided updates on ongoing development initiatives across Oredo West.
In particular, he underscored the importance of the Youth Empowerment Interest-Free Loan Scheme, stressing that it offers young entrepreneurs a rare opportunity to access funding without the burden of interest repayment. He further revealed that he had fully sponsored over 30 slots in the CNG technical training programme, each valued at more than ₦250,000 per participant, as part of his broader efforts to equip youths with practical skills and opportunities for self-reliance.
“Empowering our youths is key to building a stronger and more prosperous constituency,” he said, urging beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunities at their disposal.
