Edo State Police Command has said they are trailing the five-man kidnap gang that Abducted a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Owere Dickson Imasogie.
The State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, SP Kontongs Bello, stated this on Monday, while confirming the incident to newsmen in Benin city, he disclosed that the gunmen numbering about five stormed his farm in the village and kidnapped him.
He added that the Edo South senatorial district PDP leader, his driver and one other person were allegedly kidnapped at about 7 am in his farm, located along Agbor Road, Benin City, and were taken to an unknown destination.
According to him, “The gunmen numbering about five stormed the farm with AK 47 rifle, one pump action gun, two battle axe at the hour of 7 and kidnapped him.”
“The police are on the trail of the kidnappers to ensure the release of the victims unhurt.”
