Afrobeats heavyweight, Wizkid, has sparked renewed tension among fans after revisiting his long-standing feud with fellow music star, Davido.

This latest flare-up occurred shortly after Davido, popularly known as O.B.O, teased an upcoming single in celebration of Nigeria’s Independence Day.

On October 1st, Davido shared his excitement with fans on social media, tweeting, “First single of the year loading 👀. Happy Independence Day 🇳🇬.”

The announcement thrilled his followers, who have been eagerly awaiting new music from the “Timeless” hitmaker. However, Wizkid swiftly took to X (formerly Twitter) to lash out at Davido, taking jabs at the upcoming single.

In a series of posts, Wizkid made a controversial statement, writing, “Pussy boys dropping mids again! ❤️🦅.” The comment ignited an online firestorm, as fans from both camps debated the intent and tone of the post.

Tensions escalated further when Tycoone, a known associate of Davido, jumped into the fray, appearing to mock Wizkid’s delayed album release. In a tweet seemingly aimed at the “Made In Lagos” artist, Tycoone wrote, “Tell your daddy to drop na 😂,” provoking Wizkid to respond.

Wizkid did not hold back in his rebuttal, unleashing a string of fiery tweets that further intensified the rivalry. He downplayed any serious feud with Davido, yet continued to attack his fellow Afrobeats star, calling him “wack” and “untalented.”

These heated exchanges have set social media ablaze, with fans of both artists weighing in on the conflict. While some are entertained by the renewed drama, others are calling for reconciliation between the two icons of Nigerian music.

As of now, neither artist has indicated any plans to de-escalate the situation, leaving fans to wonder if this latest spat is just the beginning of another round in their long-standing rivalry.
