The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), held on the strikingly symbolic date of September 11, has sparked widespread controversy and debate among viewers.
Many attendees and social media commentators have drawn attention to what they describe as overt occult symbolism, predictive programming, and dark rituals on display during the event, accusing the entertainment industry of normalising these themes under the guise of entertainment.
Katy Perry’s performance stood out, as she donned large Monarch butterfly wings, which conspiracy theorists argue represent MK Ultra programming, a term often associated with mind control theories.
The performance featured a giant, glowing portal, with what many described as alien or demonic figures surrounding her as she floated above the scene. For some, the visual resembled ancient depictions of gods or divine beings, raising concerns over what the imagery was meant to invoke.
Sabrina Carpenter, whose meteoric rise to stardom has been noted by some as orchestrated by unseen forces, performed in a controversial segment that involved intimate interaction with a figure some believe was symbolic of a fallen angel, taking cues from the biblical passage Genesis 6:4, where divine beings take human wives.
Carpenter’s actions in the performance have fueled online conversations about the increasing blurring of lines between art and supposed spiritual or occultic rituals.
Taylor Swift, another focal point of discussion, appeared in an outfit adorned with UFO imagery, which has been linked to broader conspiracies such as #ProjectBlueBeam, a theory claiming governments will use advanced technology to simulate an alien invasion or otherworldly events to manipulate global populations.
Critics of the VMAs argue that the consistent use of such symbols—portals, aliens, and angelic or demonic figures—are part of a larger agenda to desensitise the public to spiritual deceptions that may arise in the future.
Some viewers cite the Bible in their warnings, particularly the passage from Luke 21:26: “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”
Those who view the awards show through this lens see it as another sign that society is edging closer to what they call “the days of Noah,” referencing the biblical period before the flood, said to be marked by moral corruption and interactions between humanity and fallen angels.
For now, the VMAs continue to captivate audiences worldwide, but for a growing number of critics, the flashing lights and dazzling performances are masking darker agendas. Many encourage others to seek clarity through faith, warning that the world is unprepared for the spiritual and physical events they believe are soon to unfold.
