The Federated Fadama Farmers Community Association in Edo State has declared what it described as “total and unflinching” support for Hon. Dr Richard Edosa and Hon. Osamede Edebiri ahead of the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly elections.
The declaration was made during the association’s State Farmers Coordinators Meeting in Benin City, which brought together coordinators from the Oredo West and Oredo East constituencies.
The meeting, led by the Edo State Chairman of the association, Hon. Prince Henry Ebole, reportedly turned into a show of solidarity for the two aspirants, with farmers displaying face caps bearing Edosa’s image and chanting solidarity songs in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The farmers were heard chanting: “APC all the way! Edosa is our own! Edebiri is our own!”
Speaking on behalf of the association, Ebole said the farmers’ support for Edosa was based on what he described as the lawmaker’s demonstrated concern for the welfare of ordinary people.
He cited Edosa’s free medical outreaches and humanitarian interventions, including the donation of a wheelchair to one of the association’s members, as evidence of his commitment to the grassroots.
Ebole also commended Edebiri for his reported efforts to facilitate fertilisers from Abuja for farmers in Edo State, describing him as a friend of farmers who understands their challenges.
The association subsequently declared its intention to mobilise its members across Oredo West and Oredo East in support of the two politicians.
The farmers said they had resolved to stand firmly behind Edosa and Edebiri, insisting that their support would be sustained through the 2027 election season.
The gathering ended with chants of solidarity and renewed calls for grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
The declaration adds another layer to the emerging political mobilisation around the 2027 Edo State House of Assembly elections, particularly in Oredo West and Oredo East constituencies.
