2,679 Enrol for Oba Ewuare II Entrepreneurship Programme as 10th Coronation Anniversary Activities Gather Momentum

No fewer than 2,679 prospective entrepreneurs have completed orientation for the fourth edition of the Oba Ewuare II Two-Month Entrepreneurship Programme, marking a significant milestone in efforts to promote youth empowerment, enterprise development and job creation in Edo State.

The initiative, organised by Aiguobasinmwin Movement World-Wide as part of activities commemorating the 10th Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, CFR, is scheduled to commence on August 10, 2026.

The orientation attracted participants from across the state and served as a preparatory exercise ahead of the intensive two-month training programme, which is designed to equip beneficiaries with practical entrepreneurial, vocational and business management skills to foster self-employment and wealth creation.

Speaking at the event, President of Aiguobasinmwin Movement World-Wide, Iyamu Osaro Culture, described the initiative as a strategic investment in human capital, stressing that empowering young people with entrepreneurial skills remains critical to reducing unemployment and stimulating sustainable economic growth.

He commended the impressive turnout of participants and urged them to approach the programme with commitment, discipline and determination, noting that the knowledge and skills acquired should be transformed into thriving business ventures capable of creating jobs and improving livelihoods.

Culture also charged the participants to uphold the values, culture and dignity of the Benin Kingdom throughout the programme, reminding them that they are ambassadors of the revered throne of Oba Ewuare II.

According to him, the entrepreneurship programme has continued to expand in both scope and impact since its inception, providing thousands of young people with practical skills and enterprise development opportunities that have strengthened Edo State’s small business ecosystem.

He reaffirmed the Movement’s commitment to advancing youth empowerment through sustainable entrepreneurship and skills acquisition initiatives that promote inclusive economic development across the state.

The two-month entrepreneurship training is one of the flagship programmes lined up to celebrate the 10th Coronation Anniversary of Oba Ewuare II and underscores the growing role of community-based organisations in driving entrepreneurship, economic inclusion and youth development in Edo State.
