The Rivers State House of Assembly has threatened to resume impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara “if he persists in violating the constitution”.
Martin Amaewhule, the Speaker of the House, announced this on Saturday during a press conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Amaewhule, joined by 26 Assembly members, read aloud a communique released following the press conference.
The legislators alleged that the governor had failed to uphold his obligations under the Presidential Peace Accord, which he willingly signed without any coercion.
