Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide are experiencing a wave of joyful excitement following the recent announcement by the Governing Body of the religious sect.
The new development is that publishers will no longer be required to report field service time or placements, beginning in November 2023. Before this announcement, the religious sect was facing a significant drop in the house-to-house evangelism works, even with the introduction of the do-nothing cart witnessing mandate.
The COVID-19 pandemic further exacerbated the situation, making it challenging for adherents to knock on doors, as householders were less understanding than before. The Cart Witnessing that was introduced to address this challenge was ineffective, with the hours spent being too low. It has been reported that many Jehovah’s Witnesses are leaving the religion due to doctrinal issues that conflict with the Bible.
These issues are driving some adherents to seek alternative beliefs or abandon religion altogether. In light of these challenges, the Governing Body has announced that publishers will no longer be required to report the amount of time they spend in the ministry or the number of placements, video showings, or return visits they make.
This move is aimed at encouraging the members to focus on the quality of their ministry work rather than the quantity. The Governing Body has emphasized that this change will not affect the importance of the ministry work but rather seeks to promote a more personal approach to evangelism that focuses on building relationships with people.
